“U.S. Undersecretary of State Visits Borobudur Temple”

Visiting U.S. Undersecretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs Judith McHale observed the cleaning process to remove Mt Merapi’s ash layer from Borobudur temple in Central Java and said she would help find a

way for the U.S. government to provide assistance in preserving the temple under the U.S. – Indonesia Comprehensive Partnership. “I have long heard about Borobudur Temple, however this is my first visit,” said McHale. “After I returned to Washington, I would look for ways so that the U.S. can help support Borobudur Temple.”
